I don't disagree, and I'll also add I think it's a very cool rug.
When I used the word chaotic, I was mainly referring to the hard angular designs in both border and print. The border itself is reminiscent of lightning bolts, jagged edges of design print are very energized as well.
Whether or not it may be considered what one would call a war rug, this I cannot say for sure. However, it is very clear that there are elements which lend toward some sort of war rug/invasion influence. If I had to say an age on this piece, I would early 80's to early 90's. If I had to make a pinpoint guess, I would place it between 1987-1992, although this is mainly due to the fact the rug appears to be tea washed. If it is not tea washed, it could very well be from the early 80's. Can you tell if it is or did the rug not arrive? Also, I'd be curious what the price of this rug was.
On another note, there's an awesome war rug site that has been up and running for some time now. It's really cool, I think I'm going to browse it and see what other info we might be able to dig up on this piece. Very cool rug.

I paid $27.50 for the rug with $35.00 shipping. I'm fine with that. I have not gotten it yet so O'll have to see about the tea wash. The whole picture looks kind of golded out out. So it may be the shot. I'll let you know. And I see what you mean by your use of the term chaotic. Gotcha.
And I am not really "into" the war rugs as a class, but I find the concept fascinating and if I have to have one, and of course I have to have one, this looks like a good candidate.

http://tinyurl.com/4fn5hkHere's this thing again. I bid on this months ago, and I can tell you, if I bid on it it was a tenth that price or less. each time it goes around it a thousand dollars more expensive, and originates from a different continent. When I wanted it, (and I do love it) it was Moroccan. Now it's Turkish. Man, those shifting continental borders will kill ya.

I've seen it sold three times after I bid on it a few months ago. How can people be so dumb? Recycling like that among the same group of people? I guess they have no clue it's the same group of people ..... I should have fought for that thing. I feel like I let it down. ;)

I wonder how many times the price changed. Possibly it's all the same people who bid on their own item with different IDs?

Who knows. But if it doesn't sell at $300, do you just keep jacking the price up till it hits $3,000? Or are they so stupid that it's different buyers getting it and recycling it not knowing people have seen it recycling? Doesn't make any sense.
