Hello, all. Seems like a cool forum/community you have here.

My wife and I are very new to the world of rugs, but we picked up two rugs from Rugman.com and then (as timing would have it) I found this site. I was wondering what folks' general impressions are of that site, and also had some questions about the rugs we bought. I think we got a good deal and the rugs appear to be nice looking, but now that I've tooled around on this site a bit, who can be sure?!?!

I'll post some information on the rugs themselves when I get home tonight, but for now, the info I have is as follows:

First Rug (we paid about $550)
- Tabriz (made in Iran)
- Approx 8' x 10'
- 10-20 years old
- 10 colors or so (I think)
- 82 kpsi

Second Rug (we paid about $750)
- Hamadan
- 9'5" x 12'10"
- 10-20 years old
- 7-8 colors
- 118 kpsi

I'll post some pics and more info this evening, but any preliminary thoughts on the quality of these rugs or any add'l info? One thing is that they didn't have info on whether they're made with chemical or vegetable dye, but they did have info on some of the other rugs on the site. Does that pretty much mean I should assume they're chemically dyed? And if so, is that much worse in terms of quality?

Any information would be much appreciated. We don't have buyer's remorse or anything -- we really like them -- but we just would like to know more about the rugs.

Thanks is advance for your insights!

welcome to the forum!

Pics will be great, as you can imagine, that's a big portion of the online assessment. Rug*man has some good stuff in the low to mid range, although you can find things cheap, I've only seen heard and read about satisfied customers. Some of their labeling is not 100% either, but I think they're what you call fair value for internet market
