It is not possible to learn about this in a book. You need to look at many silkrugs to learn the minimal differences in the look of the rug. We are specialized in finest silk rugs, and work with chinese, iranian and turkish producers. Otherwise I would not be quite sure about it. It is always a problem to tell from a picture, but from what I see it is 100% China. My tip would be Zhenping - best producer in Hereke Silk reproductuions from China. The disign is a Ozipek style, that Zhenping produced in a double knot quality. They are so good, most dealers will not see the difference. Compared to the Chinese Hereke Silk rugs you usually find in US, there is a at least double price for Zhenping double knot quality. As I said, the rugs are made in such perfection, it looks 100% like original.
Traditionalrugrepair is right about the usual wear of chinese silk. But we have sold Zhenping Silk for more than 20 years. We never had any problems, since the material is grade A+. You can use it for years, have it washed (real professional only!) and it will look like new.
