Dear Rug Rag community, I've inherited the following rug from my grandfather, who had it in his Brooklyn, NY house for many years. I've been told that it's likely a Sarouk or Mashad carpet, likely 50-75 years old. Does this sound correct? The rug is quite large: 11' x 21', which means that I do not have room in my house to properly roll it out. For this reason, I'm considering selling the rug, or trying to trade it for smaller rugs that I might be able to use. My recollection is that it is not in perfect shape--a few slightly worn spots--but that it is in relatively good condition. Any help you might be able to offer in identifying and appraising the rug would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Bret bret.benjamin attached the following image(s):
