side view, no flashend view, no flashend view, with flashHello again! Here are some pictures of my rug, the first 2 are without flash, the last one with (it's not on a pad and I didn't stretch it out prior to photos, so forgive please if it's not sitting perfectly flat). All I know is that it's made in Iran, and was claimed to be a Shiraz. It does have the 3 medallion design that characterizes at least some Shirazi rugs. But, when I look around I can't find anything else quite like it, neither locally nor online. I know it's not antique as it had a "made in Iran" tag on it, and Iran didn't start calling itself that until somewhere around 1940, i believe. Pile is quite low, although not nearly trimmed all the way down to the knots.
I'm not really interested so much in how much it's worth (given that it has a couple threadbare spots, and a small hole, I accept that it's worthless, but really like it anyway). My real question is, is this indeed a Shiraz? If so, any guess as to age?
Oh, and suggestions of where to look if I wanted to find something similar (both in design and color) in better condition, if such even exists anymore?
