...something i just came by and really like...seller states is a 1930's sarouk, 3x5, and asking 500... photos are attached...obvisously the end-guards are completely gone, but i think a very cool looking piece....

...i'd give 'em $100...

wow, this would be a great rug in if it were in better condition. still has some good aesthetic value, but the knots would have to be pulled to the lowest weft to secure properly.... would take even more away from the piece. Could be lilihan. Ivory is a bit less common to find. red and blue are usually more typical. 100 is good as is. If the ends were in better shape, perhaps the 500 would be justified! Great eye

Good looking rug. Bordjalou or Mehraban is my guess, maybe Lilihan. 1940.

My guess would be 1950s Hamadan, but definitely a Sarouk design. The border is missing on the bottom, and that isn't cost effective to reweave. Wholesale price would probably be roughy $100. The retail price would all depend on whether or not you can find someone that wants to buy it. For $500, you can get something much better.

Ed's right, ivory sarouks arent seen every day. lilihan design, would have to see better pics of the structure to say definitive the location of weave. designs travel
