I got this rug a while back and immediately assumed it was machine made since it looked like the fringle had been added. Then from time to time I look at it and have question. One back picuture shows the two sides crossed each with different salvage. I wouldn't think a machine rug would have that. All the back pictures had light editing in the hope to see more detail.

I don't see the typical horizonial ridges of a machine made rug, but that could be because of the "bloom" if that is the right word of the material used. There not a particular light and dark end to the rug, except for certain while areas. Therefore, there is little sheen is that due to either the cotton material or the breakdown of what ever it is made of .

The only reason I bring this rug is the question about the breakdown of material the different construction of the sides, and to detemine machine made when the knotting, even to my eyes, so hard to see.
