Here's the second rug i mentioned in an earlier post. There doesn't appear to be a consensus on its origin. The border on this one is quite interesting i believe. Dimensions are 400 cm x 460 cm robertM attached the following image(s):

I think to be sure one needs to see the images of the back, fringe and selvedges. But from these photos, I would say Persian and seems to be a reproduction. First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

Thank you so much for the feedback. here are a couple of more pictures if you could kindly have a look. It has been repaired and the frill edge re-done some time ago. robertM attached the following image(s):

I think it is Turkish and one end seems to have been rewoven. First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

Yes, the carpet does show a couple of areas of repair work (before purchase 30 years ago) and as i recall some additional work (selvedges and frills) was done in the 90's. Would you have any further insight on a more targeted origin? For info, this one was seen as a Persian Mahal by the auction house here and was valued at 1500/2000. Given their feedback it would seem that their valuation was a "generic" quote based on a price per m2 for a mid 20th century Persian rug. Thank you once again for taking the time. Best, Robert
