Good afternoon everyone-

I am very excited to be joining this forum and starting discussion on some rugs I have as well as further my education on the topic. I am hoping to get any help identifying this rug. It is 3'1"x6'2" or 94x188. The information I have noted with it is that it is Ghasem Birds Abad. Any insight you may have to tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Audra

It is a Persian Baluch Bird design from Ghassemabad. It is quite fine about 40 years old. The colours are chemical. It is a good piece. You have to be careful in washing it, as the colours may run and best to have it cleaned by a professional

Thank you for the information. That is quite helpful. Can you tell the dye because it bright? Also I can see a tiny bleeding so that would make sense? Any thoughts on fair market value of this rug? It looks like I had the origin correct so that makes feel better.

It is the shade of colours and lack of depth that makes me believe they're chemical dyes. I think if you wanted to buy it you would have to pay upwards of $700, assuming it's about 150x90cm
