This caucasian rug is approx. 5' x 7'. The condition seems great, I can not see any repairs, stains, etc.

I would appreciate any insights about:
- quality
- provenance
- rarity/availability
- age (I am told it is 50+ years old)
- fair retail price.

Thank you for your thoughts and expertise.

Hi
Looks like a zayhur rug to me by its design
If it's old it's a good piece
Not sure if it's a later copy

Nick, is there a different spelling for zayhur? I can't find info when I search on this name... Is this name a town or province?

While the pile is generally even, there is some corrosion of the brown so I think there is some age.

Several spellings on this. You might try this link:

Agree with Nick and CuzinBruce. It's a Caucasus Kuba rug also spelled Zechour.

Thanks for the input.

I should have mentioned that it is wool on wool...not sure about the weft though.
It doesn't look like a recent copy to me...based on the quality, tight weave and some corrosion of the brown.
I am told all the colors are vegetable dyes.

Any thoughts on fair retail value?
