I was told that this rug is very old. I like to find out the ID, age, and value.

Pile: Very soft wool.
Foundation: Cotton
Knots per Inch: 22 to 24
Fringe: very short
Selvage: Ok state

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Ben,
That's a beautiful rug. It has the same design as the famous Ardebil rug that was restored from 2 antique palace size rugs that is in the Albert and Victoria museum. I think it is an Indian version of this classic rug probably made in Srinagar where very fine reproduction of Persian classics were made. .. the knot count appears to be more than 400 kpsi. Couldn't see the Fringes and selves that well, but probably made in the 1970's.

Thank you Cartona. The Fringe is almost gone, only a few mm left. Regarding the selvage: The rug is very thin, and very difficult to take a clear photo that shows the selvage. I will add few more photos.

I think it is a Tabriz with Sheikh Safi design. It is around 50 to 60 years old. Impossible to value without the size.

Thank you Sharafi & Co
The size is 6.4 X 8.8
The rug shines like a silk rug, in the sun light.
The rug is also very soft, you can fold it like a towel.
