Next is my beautiful hallway runner, which I guess must be a few years old at least as there is some slight wear/fading and one end appears to have been slightly shortened/repaired. It was sold to me as a Heriz, and I understand that this type of square medallion is from that general area. But on the back it has that single, very thick white wefting that I thought was typical of Hamedan runners. Is it a Heriz, or a Hamedan in the style of a Heriz?

To my eyes it is just stunning. Something about the colours and the proportions of the medallions. I've no idea if the dyes are natural or not but they are very beautiful to me.

Any idea as to its age?

Nice vintage rug. Might be 30 years old from the image. Design is Karadja, weave is Hamadan area.

Thanks again - is Karadja the same as Karajeh / Garadjeh? I actually have two smaller modern Garadjeh runners and had noticed the similarity in the square medallion, but they have this type of medallion alternated with the diamond medallion with the hooks / running dog border.

So the weave determines where it was made, in this case the Hamadan area?
