When I looked at the front I thought it was a Pakistani double knot but looking at the weave I think it is a Saruk. Around 1980

Sharafi & Co. was right with his first thought. Pakistan Kashmir rug with good quality, Shirazi selvedge and fringes recently added. Also agree about age 1980 +/- a few years. Design, color sheme, weave def. not persian. Single knot quality.
