My daughter just bought this yesterday. I think this might be the real deal - - a MOHAJARAN Sarouk. It has "wonderful blues, soft resilient radiant wool", and the expected higher knot count..her knot count was 11 by 15 (165). Were Sarouks made with kilims? All I have seen show the warps tied off with knots and medium length fringe. Other question..some Kashans of this period look like Sarouks.
I will see her rug tomorrow and now only going on pics. A couple of questions..she says the has a residue kilim which needs to be overcast as well as the other end needs to be recast. Confirmation on type and age would be appreciated... .Sarouk, 1910.
