My Sirjan carpet is 7’3” x 10’0”, excl. fringe. I purchased it 10 years ago. I intend to sell it. The fibres are wool pile and foundation. The KPSI is 165 based on average of 3 samples. I filled out as best I could the Pro Rug Estimator; however, since this carpet is kilim and pile, I don’t know if applying the Pro Estimator is appropriate in this case, e.g. knot count.
Please click on the following Estimator link for more details: http://www.RugRag.com/Ap...-4633-8D9B-C9C8565F72CD .

I would appreciate receiving feedback on…
Carpet’s age?
Wool type?
Price range?
Additional comments?

If the Pro Estimator is not the best tool to assist in assessing this type of carpet, please provide some guidelines to help me understand as much about this carpet.

Thank you again for your consideration.

Would greatly appreciate receiving feedback on this carpet. Or, should I insert this post under another category for consideration? If so, which one? Thank you.

This production started about 15 years ago and it was at its height about 7 years ago,me here it commanded a very high price compared to other products available on the market. The production is very good with high quality wool and dyes and very finely woven. Yours is a very fine one and I am almost sure it is not handspun wool. I doubt it is older than 15 years. Price range is very difficult to tell as they have not kept their prices as well, because at the beginning there was a good demand for them in e home market which kept the price going. However that market has slackened quite considerably.

My post from the other day may not have taken. I believe this may be afshar or qashqai from as sharafi says, 10 or 15 years ago.

Is the Pro Estimator relevant for this type of carpet? If so, should I have included TRIBAL or VILLAGE under Specialty/Weave/...? I've made a few changes to the Pro Estimator for this carpet: http://www.RugRag.com/Ap...-4BC2-AE46-D76BE8B73CF5 .
Is there a special term for a mixed flatweave (kilm) and pile carpet? Is it appropriate to use the term, "gabbeh-gelim" for such a carpet? After doing some reading, it appears that my Sirjan Afshar carpet is larger than typical. Is this accurate? As it is also constructed entirely out of high quality wool, is that a selling feature? Can you direct me to some resources to help me get an idea of the worth of this type of carpet? Thank you.

What kind of wool is used in the "Afshar" Sirjan carpet?
Also, is it correct to refer to the flatweave in this carpet as Kilim?
I didn't receive a reply to my last posting, "Requesting feedback on my Persian "Sirjan" Kilim and Pile Carpet" dated 15 Dec 2014.
Thank you.

Afshar wool is of high quality and they usually use local wool. The flat weave can be referred to as Kilim.
