Need Assistance in Answering Pro Estimator for my Isfahan Rug

This is my first post. I need help in completing the RugRag Pro Estimator for my Isfahan rug, 4’7” x 7’3”, excl. fringe. It’s abt 65-75 years old. My 3 questions are: Qurk wool? Hand spun? Which KPSI category to use as the KPSI averages 513 based on 3 samples, which falls between Extremely Fine (415-510) and Super Fine (515-650)? Which way do I go as there is a significant price variable? I intend on selling this rug among others in my collection on Ebay and possibly Etsy. I’ve inputed two sets of data on the RugRag Pro Estimator based on KPSI. Since I‘m not sure about the pile, I answered “wool on silk foundation” and “No/Don’t know” for hand spun. Thank you. This Isfahan was my first Persian carpet purchase some fifteen years ago. I still can remember how nervous I was before taking the jump! Prior to this I had acquired various Afghan bags and small tribal rugs. Little did I know I was about to fall big time for Isfahan carpets with their flowing and curving tendrils (islimis). Welcome to the forum. I am afraid I don't think this piece is 60 years old, unless you have provenance. I take it you bought it 15 years ago as a 50 year old piece. Anyway it is a very good and pretty piece. You cannot really tell Kork wool from a photo but it might be Kork Wool but I don't think it is handspun. I would go for 415-510 for this piece. I don't know if eBay or easy will be the place to sell a piece like this, but good luck with it.

Thank you for your feedback. It's greatly appreciated. Like you, I think it's best to go with the more conservative KPSI estimate. If Ebay is not the best venue to sell my carpet, what approaches do you suggest I consider as I plan to sell this carpet and some others of fine to good quality. Well if your other carpets are like this then they are all good quality pieces that dealers would be interested in. The best way to sell rugs from private hands is to find somebody amongst your friends to acquaintances who are looking to buy rugs or are interested in rugs. Then a price between the auction value at the lower end and the replacement value at the other end would be fair for both. Reputable auctions are a bit of a lottery. You need two people to like your piece then you may get a good price for it so you are taking a bit of risk with that.

In recent months, as I have been building up my courage to undertake the sale of my Persian carpet collection, I have been forcing myself to be open to Ebay as a possible option; however, truthfully, my intuition has been digging in her heels and has been pulling me the other way. Enough with the tug of war! Putting my efforts into growing an online network of family, friends, and professional contacts may be the way to do. Thank you again for your advice. I can breathe so much easier because it's consistent with my reluctance to go the Ebay route.
