Hi All
This looks Turkish to me, apart from the fringe which looks Afghan and then the salvage looks Persian i am confused please help

Hi Nick,
I found a rug similar to yours except yours appears newer and colors are brighter than the antique ones I am comparing it to. Check out the Caucasus rug, Kadim Gyanja. It has the Octagon with star center and the double T motif (sainak) in the border. The example I found has a selvedge with 3 ribs in figure 8 wrappings and of course the brown wool warp. I don't have a link-- I found this in a book authored by Latif Kerimov and others. The handle is described as meaty, thick and coarsely grained.
