Hi folks, this is another rug I got when I purchased my home.
Its kinda shabby looking due to the fading.

Do you it is worth trying to repair or should I just leave it as is?

It is a nice carpet. To be able to tell whether it is worth saving one needs to see what is wrong with it. It appears as if there was a table at one end in the middle of the carpet. The border seem to be ok but the selvages need repairing. I am not clear if the rest of the wrong that is a different colour has faded or is worn. It will certainly look a lot better when washed. I cannot quite place it but I don't think it is a Kirman. To me it looks more like a Kirmanshah which is in the West of Iran rather than Kirman in the South. If the colour can be made uniform with out too much cost then it is worth it otherwise I think it will cost a lot of money to put this piece right. Personally I would spend about $700 if it means that it will look good at the end of it.

It was in a bedroom and extended wall to wall. A portion of it was rolled up because it was longer than the room.
There were dressers around the perimeter and the bed was in the middle. I'm not sure if the fading is from foot traffic or sun.

This is an American rug, made by Karastan. That is why I am doubtful that it is worth trying to save because it seems as though it may cost more than it is worth to fix.

Sorry the image of the back of the rug had not opened for me. I think you are right, it is not really worth saving unless it has a sentimental value for you.
