This is a rug I purchased a year or so ago. I rather like it, although it is somewhat worn and could use a good cleaning. Maybe this is "shabby chic"? I already found an ID that seems positive. I had thought it was Sarouk because of the blue weft and heavy structure of the rug. But a dealer ID'd it as Viss (or Wiss, Vist) and figured out the date, 1323 as woven in the rug, which translates as 1905. It may or may not be that old, but I do like it. Thank you for the correction on the date. 52 years is more in keeping with the general condition of the rug.
