I do not know much about rugs, actually nothing to be honest. He claims the value is about $1000, so i am looking for best opinions based on pics. I know it is hard to tell, and i do not have much info on it to share other than pics.

maybe. This is a hand tufted rug - New they can cost a fair amount, but a design that is a few years old they tend to be liquidated very cheap, especially as a used or second hand rug.

Hi,
I am new to the forum and have different types of rugs in my house I am learning about from RR. However, I think you are better off buying a hand knotted rug over a tufted one. To be sure the resale value is much higher for the hand knotted one. If you want to get a feel for the cost of tufted and hand knotted rugs, check out Overstock.Com. All sorts of tufted and hand knotted rugs are listed. As Rug Pro said, the tufted ones NEW can cost a fair amount, but resale is a fraction of their original purchase price.
