Just inherited this rug from my parents. They had it for at least 20 years. My mom says its hand knotted from a rug dealer in LA. My Dad says it's not.
Dimensions are 118" x 155"
Id just like to know a little rough info about it: Type, rough estimate of value. I think I want to keep it, but its too big for my house so I may want to sell it.
Thanks for your time.

It is a pretty piece. Shame about the damage because it does effect the price quite drastically. It looks like a rug from Mashad province to me possibly Birjand in Northeast of Iran. In its present condition I would say its worth about $200.

It is a really nice rug, I would say the value to sell could be higher but it is one of those things that selling a rug like this is tough with the damage. I'd get it touched up and use it for years to come.

This is a handmade Persian Birjand rug approximately 60 years old on a cotton foundation. I recommend you have it cleaned and use it as is because it is not going to bring you a whole lot of cash.
