Hi all,
I am new here and would like to get expert opinions about the new rug I bought 2 days ago at an auction ! The exact size (not incl. fringes) is 117" x 80". It is very close to 3 x 2 meters. It is silk and wool on cotton foundation. The rug is quite fine at 400 KPSI as you see in the pic (exact).
It looks like a Tabriz to me, but the design is unusual. I really like the white silk in flowers, as it gives it a nice shiny 3-dimensional look under the right lighting. I would appreciate if you tell me about the origin , design and the price.
Than you in advance.

I see the same picture with the same name, even though the sizes are different !!! I am using my iPad for this and I guess all the JPEG files on iPad are named the same.
The only way I see doing this is attaching a different picture to multiple reply posts !
If there is a better way, please let me know. Thanks.

A Persian Tabriz 50 raj on a cotton foundation and silk highlights, probably with a KPSI of less than 400. This is a good looking rug but not top of the line because of the allover pattern. Also, looking at the image from the backside, the weave seems to be just a bit coarse, and this is why the KPSI should be less than 400. If medallion is not pushed toward one end and the sides are fairly straight, this rug should be worth 3000-4500 in my opinion.
