Closely cropped therefore thin rug, soft to medium handle with no stiffness The 10X13 rug weighs under 50lbs.
Although the script is poorly executed the writing states "Kashan Paradise Frame"
and kashan is repeated at three other locations including center medallion.

My first impression was a kerman until I got the translation
Manchester rugs had this blue for a short time (later indigo blue

Different but very attractive whatever it is. Strange mosque on ends

It is not a Kerman, but if my reading of the writing is correct then it says Ghazan, which I am almost sure is correct as the back would certainly suggests it is a Tabriz and there is a Ghazan mark in Tabriz. There is a writing under the mosque which your photo does not show very well and it is very difficult to read.

I certainly appreciate your reply. I have attached several places, including the one under the mosaic where script is found.
Also I have included a picture to help illustrate the handle

Thanks again.

The signature says Ghazan Gharpet. I must confess that I did know a bit more about Ghazan but right now I cannot recall it and it must be old age. However, it is about a 1920 Tabriz and it is a wonderful piece with a fantastic blue. You have a nice piece there.
