What kind of rug is this??

This rug came from a plantation in Louisiana that my husbands family owned, and sold several years ago. Since then it has been folded up in a storage unit and now our attic. I have no idea if it has value, but many items that came out of this very old plantation have, so this could too.

Its measurements are 160 inches by 118 inches.

Any help identifying what type of rug it is, and if it has any value would be appreciated.
