I need help appraising my Persian rug. It was made in Iran and appears to be hand woven. It is numbered. It is 260X142 roughly 4 1/2 feet by 8 1/2 feet. At a guess i would say Shiraz or maybe luri but not sure

I think it is a Shiraz. I know why Nick thinks it is a Luri as the design certainly lends itself to Luri but older Luris have goat hair for fringes. In either case it wouldnt make much difference in the price and I think the auction value of the piece is about $250 if it doesnt have any faults.
