I purchased these two rugs while deployed one is made of silk and wool, and the other is 100% silk. Both are gorgeous but I would like to know more about them. I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

Do you have better pictures of the silk one?

They both appear to be relatively new production, the past 10 years. The wool and silk one is an Isfehan and it appears to be with Kork wool, which is the first cutting of a lamb. It is typical design from the area and is very good fine piece.

The Silk one is a Qum and the quality of photo did not allow me to read the signature. Even though you have not posted an image of the back I am sure it is a very fine piece with good quality Silk. This type of production started about 15 to 20 years ago in Qum. The look and feel is slightly different to old Qums because the way it is woven is slightly different but it is much much finer than the old Qums. Also they only started weaving these sort of designs in silk Qums about 10 years ago.

Wonderful pieces. Enjoy them. You seem to have a good, expensive taste

Thank you for your replies, sorry the other pictures weren't posted correctly. The images were too big to upload. I have since corrected the problem and the remaining pictures of my silk one are posted. Thanks again. :)

I am thinking of selling them, any idea how much they are worth?

That is not an easy question to answer without actually inspecting them. However, I can tell you that your best bet is to sell them to someone you know that is looking for rugs like this. You can find what sort of price they are selling for and sell them to the that person 20-30% below shop price. A dealer with its over heads will not be able to buy it at any price near that and auction is a gamble.
