Hi. I got this rug last year at an estate sale, and was really drawn to it for some reason. I have no idea when it was made, but it felt, and looked very old to me. It measures 14 feet long and 13 feet wide. It has 5 sections that are sewn together, and there's multiple stripes, and multiple colors of thread making up the entire rug. Could anyone help me date this, or tell me any info about the style, or any history they might be able to share? Thank you very much.

Ok. I think I may have figured it out. I've come across rag rugs just now, and they look very similar to mine. I believe mine is a giant rag rug, but if someone dis-agrees, please let me know. Thanks

that is very, very cool - it does look like a rag rug, but whoever made it must have been very talented, Looks good and very large!

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I really thought so too. I've been looking hard at rag rugs since I discoverd this was in that area, and I can't find anything so colorful. I'm assuming the made all those colors, then sewed them together with the different colored threads...? Just curious, but what drew you in, and made you think they were taleneted..? Thanks
