Wife thinks it a Kurdish , I think turkoman modern.

Well, we bought it from an older half drunk guy living in his garage. He said he was moving ,though I'm not quite sure that he wasnt squatting there. He had three rugs ,I saved two. One was dry rotted badly I could not save it.Drove home,drank whiskey and stared at rugs.

You can't go wrong with "Oriental Carpets: A Complete Guide" by Murray Eiland and Murray Eiland for a good overview book.
