I am looking for a start at identifying and eventually appraising this carpet I was given. It is in perfect condition and perfectly clean. Thanks for any information you may provide. File Attachment(s): mzaluski attached the following image(s):

Hello and welcome to the group.
I don't know what type of weave to call your rug, but it is not your typical hand-tied rug, and neither is it a kilim rug. Maybe someone else can give more information.

It's made with Soumak flatweave technique. To me it looks perhaps Turkish, and not old, but I say that with little confidence.

Hi, Does anyone have any direction where I can find more about how to appraise this carpet?

I am guessing it is 7-12 years young.
