Odd fringe, both ends don't match... repair???

I'm confused. I bought this rug on ebay. In the photo's it showed no difference in fringe on each end. But, when i got it today, here's what I have. I'm guessing they repaired one end, correct? The fringe is so different from one end to the other.

Usually tuukish Kilims like yours have undyed kelim border on one side and fringes like the thinker ones on the other side. But if the wearver opens the Kilim border and secures it the way on your Kilim it is ok, too. It might have been repaired because the Kilim border was not stable anymore, but might also have been done when it was new. It is ok and no defect.
