The problem with my knowledge/researching a rug is I only take a limited amount of characteristics into account rather than the whole. Iet does have the ribbed back, blue selvage (that which still exists)and the handle is very limp.
Is this a kuba chi chi and it so what age. I find several interesting things in the rug including a section that seems purposefully changing color mid rug and it doesn't look like merely abrash to my eyes.

56"X44" some missing at both ends. Selvage cords in place but needs securing. I have professional rug repair in the area, but should I be careful to merely secure and don't even approach any restoration. The only restoration would be the ends and sides
