It's very hard to determine the value held within modern carpet weaving, as trends tend to change with demand.
A very attractive piece and I can see why you purchased it. The design derives from persian garden formats, with water irrigation channels separating the square garden motifs within the central field. You can see the original designs by searching for Bakhtiari rugs and carpets. You won't have your grand kids in 40 years running off to auction with it, but nice example nonetheless.
Looks like there could be a signature in the weave at the top where the corner is folded over?
