Can you ID these two rugs

A friend sent me pictures of two rugs. can you help identify them. both are about 6'x3'. All wool. more than 30 years old. do you think these are fairly common designs? thanks for you help.

Probably north western china (khotan area), mongolia or at least infuenced by this area. Not very common, need better pictures of back (knots, fringe, selvedge).

Your rug pics are not good. Its hard to predict rug quality by seeing the pictures so would you post good quality pictures so that we can see the quality of rugs

Looking at the images Steve,

it looks like your friend is a carpet dealer himself, who should know about the origin of these?
Very attractive rugs nonetheless, but I'm struggling to see the 30 years age in them, unless you can verify that this is correct I would say they are modern Chinese.

I would second USER:KAD's comment on North West China but again the images don't give us too much information at this stage.
