Hi all--I've been lurking for a while and just registered. I bought this rug today and was wondering if anyone could ID it for me.. it looks kind of like a Kerman but I've never seen a rug with the palmettes coming out the sides like that. The woman who sold it to me told me the rug was made in the 1930s.. thanks in advance!

Would you be so kind to upload an image of the back of the piece and a closeup of the pile if possible.
looks like an interesting find Sir...

With the current image, I would say this is a Persian Tabriz and perhaps just about 40-45 years old. It is a good looking rug and if in good condition, you will be able to enjoy it for many years.
