Any chance someone can verify if this is a prison Hereke? It is about 3x5 and wool on cotton and 30 ish years old. link is below.

As far as I knnow there where no specific designs used for these prison rugs. So you may belive it is such a rug and pay more or look at it as a normal nice old Hereke rug and enjoy it. Stories like prison Hereke and so on are usually told to get a better price from buyers.

Agreed KAD. However the writing on the back is much like a cell block or prison number. That is why I thought it might be the rare find of a prison Hereke. Eitherway, it looks nice.

Often numbers like these are for insurance puroses and identification. I like the rug - it is very pretty.
