Hello to yall! First, I would just like to say that my boyfriend I do not know the least thing about rugs! We inherited this rug from his sister who received it from her husband's mom who paid approximately $900 for it. We did a couple of "silk rug" tests to see if the rug was made out of real silk. The burn test turned out in favor of the rug being real silk. Such as, the burnt particle smelled like burnt hair and shriveled up like it was supposed to. Now, I'm not saying it's real silk just because of this test. We just found this test online.

The rug is approximately 8' by 10'. It seems to be in alright condition. However, if possible, we would like to sell it as it is too large for our apartment! But, we do not have the slightest clue on what type it is, where it was made, how much it's worth, etc. I would like to post a few pictures to see if anyone can identify or tell what it is worth. Any help at all would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hello. Silk and wool will have similar results in both odor and reaction to a flame.
