Help identifying rug

Hello, there.

The rug pictured below is 129 inches by 99 inches. I bought it from a little old lady whose late art-restorer husband brought it back from the Basque country of Spain in 1960. He had bought it used and believed it was made at least 20 years before that. It appears to be machine made. Any information you can offer on this would be helpful. I have no knowledge of rugs and have no idea what I've got. I just thought it was beautiful. I put it in our living room.

It is machine-made. A Caucasian design but it's probably made in Belgium as are most machine-made rugs. Don't think it's anywhere near that age but it could be. It's not the type of rug that would increase in value with age unfortunately. 99% of machine-made rugs once used are just second hand carpets.
