Hi
I like to get some information on this rug.
The seller claimes that it is a Naein-Toranj, 6 la rug.
Size: 90(cm)*139(cm)
Material: Kork wool + Silk made of natural dye.

He posted some phots of the rung in the link below.

naeinrugs.com/145-91-35-naein-oval-toranj-persian-hand-made-rug.html

I like to know if this a real Naeing rug, and like to see if this rug is over priced?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Ben,

This is a real Naein Rug
There are afew ways you can recognize if this is a real Naein Rug or a fake one.
1) if you are not an expert person in this area, you can ask the seller for a document called certificate of origin confirmed by Canadian customs that proves where a rug is coming from and what it is made of. (none of other traders at least in Ottawa are able to provide you with that as they all import from China, India, and Pakistan and a few tribal rugs they carry sometimes are all bought from middle-man)
2) Ask the seller for their shipment documents to make sure the rug is coming from its real origination, i.e. Iran (Persia).
We have both of above mentioned docs and we produce 30-40% our rugs. We do not pay any customs fees because we have Certificate of Origin.

3)Count the number of knots per square inches and if this is greater than 400, this is a good sign! People who are importing fake Persian rugs from Pakistan, India, and China, won't be able to find such a fine rug, never ever and even if they find it, they cannot afford to buy it or they don't take the risk of importing it as they are not able to sell it.

I am the owner of Naein Rugs Co. and this yellow oval Naein rug is conditionally sold (you can still have a close look at it if interested). You can always come to me (by appointment) so I may be able to share more information about our rugs and how you can differentiate between a real Persian (Iranian) rug and other ones.

About the price, please contact me so we can have a chat and I explain to you why the price is more than reasonable.

Regards,

Where does it say natural dyes? I don't think this is correct but I don't see it on the website either. Also, knot count is irrelevant, although value on a carpet of this is heavily contingent upon more detailed photos. LAH and KPSI for this type typically drive the end price.

Also, I do not agree with the *some* of the owners statements, especially those made in #3

The original price was 2540, but it is on sale and the current asking price is 1255.
