I bought this on a private buy thinking from photographs it to be a Qom. It arrived and to me the foundation looks cotton (shiny cotton but not silk) which is making me think twice now).

Still happy with the price paid regardless. What's your thoughts on what it is and your opinions on retail value?

Wow. Cotton? Do you have a photo of the burn? or are you absolutely sure it is cotton

No, not 100% certain. It is shiny like silk but just seems too thick for silk. Just tried a burn test, have the cold so my nose is blocked up and can't smell much, does smell more like hair or charred meat than paper, it crumbled into a fine black ash when burned.

*Black ash when rubbed in fingers (balls up when burned)

So I'm guessing now it's silk just thick fringes (for silk)
