I recently purchased this carpet and believe it to be a Qom silk. It measures 6'7" by 4'4" with 576kpsi. I can provide more photos if required. Thanks, Greg

Here are some additional photographs.
The coin is a UAE Dirham and is 24/25.4 of an inch in diameter, not far off the 24.3/25.4 of an inch for the US Quarter.

Can you post a link to the thread with more photos again? I will take a look. Price seems fair

It does appear to be qum silk, it looks like a nice carpet. Seems you did fine - I wouldn't expect to resell it and make money, but it's a nice tight rug. Prices have gone up a bit here in the States for these rugs, I don't know what the situation is over there. You would imagine the closer you get to the loom, the cheaper the carpet should be - this unfortunately is not always the case, however, it seems your rug was purchased in pretty reasonable retail price range by US standards.

Thanks for you feedback on this rug. I think demand is driving prices up because there is speculation that the younger generation are not continuing the tradition of making these things by hand. This of course means there are fewer rugs making it to the market. Then again, this may be rumour simply to create demand to inflate the price of rugs. You will be paying even more for these rugs from a retail outlet, even out here. I have another smaller Qum rug, a hunting scene and paid about half of what I did for this particular one. Thank again for the interest you've shown in this one.
