Looking to buy this Chinese silk rug. Local dealer says it's a 120 line rug. Can anyone confirm? I've attached some pics.

120 line, yes...but looks to be artificial silk (art. silk), pull a fiber and do a burn test (art. silk will smell like burnt paper, real silk smells like burnt hair). Art. silk rugs look nice until you need to wash them, wool washes much better, there are silk rugs (Chinese) on cotton foundations (rare, but they do exist), but the way the ends are rolled and tassels attached, I'd bet $ these rugs are art. silk. (My first silk rug was an art. silk a dealer sold to me as the real thing...live and learn!)

I tried the burn test. Here is the pic. It looks like nubbed ends which I assume is more real silk than art silk.

Try a fiber from the pile, not the fringe (hold it with tweezers and use a lighter)...did you smell the smoke? Did it smell like burnt hair? Check out this youtube video on art. silk rug after washing.
