I bought this rug sevral years ago and was told it was from Afghanistan.
Can anyone help me with id and value?

Yes, this is an Afghan rug with a wool foundation and a wool pile, perhaps around 180-190 knots per square inch. Market value depends on the size, but $10-$12 per square foot would be a fair retail value for it.
