Hi all,

I just purchased a rug in an auction, defined as "Persian". It size is 6 x 9.5 feet. It has about 14-16 knots per inch.
In the last photo, the coin diameter is a little less than 1 inch (it is 50 Eurocents).
I would like to know the origin of the rug, and possibly it value.

This rug appears to be of Indian origin, made in the early 1990s, perhaps. I'm not sure if it is your camera or the rug, but it does look like there may be a little water damage to the coloring. If in good condition, something like this would be worth as much as $750. The color scheme is just a bit dated for today's market. Hope the information is helpful.

Dear Jahann and Sons,

thank you for the information. In fact the rug is in very good shape, but the photos were made with a smartphone, so the results are not very good. When I bought the rug, I was quite doubtful for its the color (I prefer the red and blue), but now I am very happy of the bid. BTW, the rug costed to me 185 Euros overall, that amount to 238 US$ at the current rate of exchange.
