Bought this a few weeks ago at an out of town flee market.
Seller knew nothing about it.
It's 1'6 x 2'1
Any help with identification and age would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

This is a Persian Hamadan rug with a cotton foundation and a wool pile, around 50 years old and seems to be in a good shape. Anything else you need to know about it?

Thanks for the info!
Yes, it is in pretty good shape minus a few dirty spots.
Should I have it professionally washed or is it something I could do myself?

Also, in today's market, what would be an estimated value for it?

Many thanks.

For such a small piece, the market value is around $60-70, and as a general rule, you should have handmade rugs washed professionally. If you insist on doing a "surface-cleaning" by yourself, I will send you detailed instructions.

Yes, please pass along the "surface-cleaning" detailed instructions. I would just like to look at them.
I will also look for a place to have it washed professionally.

I have been trying to use the email option of the forum, but keep getting an error message. Send me an email to contact@rugfirm.com and I will reply with the instructions.
