I recently bought what I believe is an old Karastan rug at an auction. I have had trouble identifying the pattern. Loosely attached to the back is a Karastan tag. The pattern name and number have faded, but can vaguely be read as Pattern #714 Red Sarouk. On the websites I've found, Pattern #714 is Allegro and Red Sarouk is #785. Also, the current Red Sarouk has a different design. I am unsure whether Karastan has changed their pattern numbers over the years or if the tag was attached to the wrong rug or was mislabeled. I have no reason to believe anything unethical was done. I only paid $375 for this 9 x 12 rug and it is in excellent condition, I'm just trying to get additional information on the pattern, its age as well as a general idea of its value. Thank you in advance for your help. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
