Hey there,

Have a look at this and tell me what you think. Silk-on-silk. Size 5x3. New carpet. 1500 KPSI. Seller tells me from Kashmir region. Will not identify village. Offered it to me for $USD4000 after some heavy bargaining.

Unable to get persian rugs here in kathmandu. Only tibetan, nepali and kashmiri. This is of course a rug with no certificate. The seller seems legit and has appeared in a few documentaries about kashmiri rugs. I am happy with quality and origin. Just price wise. I'm not sure if it's high/low/fair for a similar rug in the west.

Didn't have a ruler/quarter. Took a few pics with the side of a card (width 2 1/8th inches). Unfortunately only one pic turned out ok ish.

I counted 80 knots on this length that equals 5.4 cm. It turns out between 1400 and 1500 kpsi. So this is ok. I think the price is fair than.

I also counted 78-80 knots meaning its just short of 1400kpsi, not as regular as you'd find on a Qom but still... of course Qoms are great but you'd probably pay this amount for a Qom silk less than half as fine.
