Trying to find out if this rug is real Hereke

My wife and I lived in Turkey for a couple years and just before we left we bought a couple handmade carpets. One with the intent to keep, the other to sell to make profit. Stupidly, even with two years behind me, I didn't do any research on handmades. The dealer sold me what he says is a 3x5 Hereke ("Hereki from Turkey") 100% silk. I've added some pictures hoping someone can tell me what we actually got, as I'm almost convinced it's not from Hereke. Thanks in advance.

Please let me know if some more information or pictures is needed or if I am posting in the wrong place. Thanks again.

It looks like you have a silk Persian rug from the city of Qum. The signature even says it is a Qum. A lot of folks who buy silk rugs in turkey end up with mercerized cotton. The fact that you left Turkey with a silk Persian rug makes you quite lucky. This is a nice piece.

Yes, very nice persian silk rug from Qum. I personally think Qum is much bettter than Hereke (my turkish friends might hate me for that), but looking at a Qum that was 10 years on the floor and a Hereke that was on the floor the same time will tell everything. Generally, Qum silk rugs are the best if you intent to use it instead of just looking at it (wall hanging).

Is this the one you want to sell, and if so, what are you asking for it?

I appreciate your replies. It is good to know what I actually have. As I said, we didn't really ask much questions about the rugs we bought. We just wanted to get some handmades before we lost our chance in Turkey. Wether we got a good deal or not, remains to be seen. My intent was to sell this rug, but not necessarily right away as I was under the impression that the rug would gain value as it got older. I am in no position right now to ask for a price as I have no idea how much it's worth. I will probably have to find somewhere in this area to get appraised. I would ask here, but I would imagine it would be hard just from photos. Does anyone know about how much increase (if any) in value a rug like this would gain each year? Thanks again for the info.
