I bought this rug at auction a few years back. I don't remember how much I paid, but it wouldn't be over $200. It measures 46X71 inches and is evenly worn.

This rug is an old (70-80 years) Persian Malayer. Due to the weaving techniques and having one single weft over each row of knots, these rugs tend to get worn a lot quicker than other types of Persian rugs. However, the pattern is very decorative and it can bring life to the correct environment. I recommend you have it cleaned and fix the fringes if they are unraveling, and keep enjoying it the way it is. If you were to sell it, it would not get you any cash, so just keep using it in a corner of your house.

Thank you. If it is valueless, why should I sink money into it?
