that has three compressed guls. Is this simply a poorly drawn rug or is there a reason for the change. Also does the many colors denote a newer rug? Full back cover is shown I'd look at the second picture first since the whole rug picture is lacking. Thanks for any help.

It is relatively new, maybe 10 - 20 years, hardly much older. It comes from Afghanistan and is just not made very professional. A typical village rug. But I like its original look and the strong colors. Collectors see this different most of the time.

It can be from Gorgan, a city in Iran, many Turkmen live there
