This cracks me up, the rug is dated 1973, but the seller states that he does "not believe this to be correct because other things date it older." This rug is every bit of 1973, and nothing more. Like many items this seller offers, the age of 1920 is significantly exaggerated. Every which I have seen dated has either been dated correctly, or deceptively "older" than the rug itself.

HA! That's brilliant. "Everything looks older." That's real scientific appraisal lingo I guess? And his comment about ... makig a movie today and calling it 2050. What a geek! And I am waiting to answer the "Louis Vuitton" post when I have mor time. On the run but could not resist this one!
